This webinar will focus on reducing risk for suicide and increasing positive outcomes for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. Effie Malley, Director of the National Center for the Prevention of Youth Suicide at the Senior Public Policy and Research Manager at the Trevor Project will discuss practice implications of modifiable risk and protective factors for suicide, how family expressions of acceptance and rejection of their LGBT children can impact suicidal behavior, and what the evidence says about ways in which media coverage and public health campaigns can help prevent suicide.
